We knew it was a bit much to expect Mercedes McQueen to be a real victim in Hollyoaks, and it would seem we were right!
Fans of the hit Channel 4 soap will know how evil Dr Browning (Joe Thompson) has just returned to our Hollyoaks screens, minus his fiancée Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe).
No one really believed that she had simply gone missing, especially when Myra (Nicole Barber-Lane) discovered Mercy’s blood stained scarf in his luggage. However, the blood turned out to be his own after an altercation with Mercedes resulted in her head-butting him (now, that’s the Mercy we all know and love), but with that little mystery cleared up, the question still remained, where was Mercedes?
Dr Browning received a phone call from Mercedes’ phone, where all that could be heard was screaming, and in the final shot of tonight’s episode fans will see Hollyoaks super-vixen, Clare DeVine (Gemma Bissix), sending a ransom note for her release.
But, has she really been kidnapped?
The answer is, not surprisingly NO, as All About Soap has reported that the scheming minx’s are in it together!
According to the publication, Mercedes has been staying with Clare of her own accord, where the two concocted the money-making scheme to fake a kidnapping in order to get Dr Browning to cough up.
However, things are set to turn dangerous when, after hearing Dr Browning’s desperate and worried voicemail, Mercedes tries to call off the deal, overcome with guilt.
Clare, however, is not best pleased with this new plan, and knocks the feisty McQueen unconscious.
Then to make matters even worse for Clare, Dr Browning tracks her down and, after demanding to know where Mercedes is, begins to strangle her.
The attack is interrupted by Jim McGinn and, after escaping Browning’s murderous clutches, Clare sends a video message to the McQueen family showing a bruised and battered Mercedes, along with a demand for£200k ransom.
The family are devastated and, thinking it is the only way to save her sister, Jacqui (Claire Cooper) turns to Trudy (Daniella Westbrook) for more illegal work to raise the cash.
Just how this will end, we are not sure, but with Jacqui set to leave our Hollyoaks screens very soon, after revealing to Tony the big secret she shares with Trudy, we are thinking there is still plenty more drama to come!
Watch all the drama unfold on Hollyoaks on Wednesday, April 10 at 6.30pm on Channel 4/ Channel 4 HD.
