Hollyoaks Spoilers: Nick Pickard wants career change for Tony Hutchinson!
Hollyoaks only original cast member, Nick Pickard, has revealed that he would like a career change for his character, Tony Hutchinson.
Nick, who has played Chester’s most ambitious entrepreneur since the show first aired back in 1995, has seen his character in many failed, dodgy and, sometimes, down-right stupid, business ventures throughout his time on the hit Channel 4 soap, but thinks that the one thing that could work out for Tony was if he was to become a chef again.
Throughout his Hollyoaks career, Tony Hutchinson and his latest business, including burger bars, launderettes, health spas and restaurants, have been one of the pinnacle blocks holding the village community together. But now, as he finds himself at a cross roads yet again, it is dreams of opening another restaurant that that helps Tony get back his fighting spirit.
In episodes to be shown next week, fans will see Tony start to make plans to rebuild his once successful eatery, Il Gnosh, despite not being certain he has the funds to see the project through.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Nick Pickard who plays Tony, explained:
“I hope Tony is successful with bringing back Il Gnosh, because I don’t think he’s ever been happy running the gym. It was one of those things where Cindy wanted it more than him, so he did it for her.
“It would be nice to see the restaurant back, but Tony’s finances are slightly in trouble at the minute, so we’ll have to see where that goes!
“I really enjoyed working in that restaurant environment, though. You’ve always got something to do and there’s always something going on. I also love cooking in real life, so it’s nice when you tie the two together.
“I also think Il Gnosh gives the village a nice place where they can come and eat. It’s a good place for characters to hang out, congregate and tell tales of woe!”
“It’s a very big year ahead for Tony, which is very good for me. I’m really looking forward to it. It’ll actually be one of my biggest years, this year.”
