As we have previously reported, poor Maxine Minniver is about to see Patrick Blake’s true colours, when he loses his temper with her, hurting her arm in the process.
Fans of the award-winning Channel 4 soap will know how, after manipulating quite a few situations to get Maxine’s (Nicki Sanderson) attention, and subsequent affection, Patrick (Jeremy Sheffield) finally made a public declaration of love towards her, much to the disgust of his daughter, Sienna (Anna Passey).
Now blissfully happy at being in a relationship with the sixth form headmaster, Maxine is about to fall prey to his controlling ways again.
Having been promoted to the new College Coffee manager, Maxine gets a bit carried away with the role, which causes George Smith (Stephen Roberts) to quit his job there, fed up with her power-trip, and Patrick takes delight in mocking Maxine’s failures as a manager.
Maxine is left hurt by Patrick’s nastiness, but Patrick soon has to change his tune when, after the venue he has organised for an event he is hosting falls through, he needs Maxine’s help.
Maxine allows the event to be held at the coffee shop, and things seem to be going well. That is until she tries to dance with Patrick in front of all his guests.
Later on when they are alone, Patrick furiously grabs Maxine’s arm and warns her never to embarrass him like that again with neither of them aware that the whole thing has been witnessed by Patrick’s ex, Anna Savage (Saskia Wickham).
Anna, who lets face it knows Patrick’s dark side only too well, is already suspicious of Patrick after being informed by Dirk (David Kennedy) that he gave Dodger (Danny Mac) a false alibi for Texas’ (Bianca Hendrickse-Spendlove) murder, and after witnessing this display puts two and two together and comes up with a theory that Patrick is in fact the real killer.
The Savage/Blake estranged mother pays the head teacher a visit the next day where she confronts him over her suspicions, and vows to make him pay for what he has done to Will (James Atherton) by killing his wife – will she take her theory to the police? And if she does, where will that leave poor Dodger?
Watch all he drama unfold in Hollyoaks on Thursday, June 20 and Friday, June 21 at 6.30pm on Channel 4 / Channel 4 HD.
