Hollyoaks beauty, Nicki Sanderson, has opened up about her characters recent storyline with controlling new sixth form head teacher, Patrick Blake.
Maxine Minniver has leant on Patrick (Jeremy Sheffield) and his daughter Sienna (Anna Passey) since they arrived, using them as company following the departure of her sister, Mitzeee (Rachel Shenton).
However, Patrick has homed in on her vulnerability and used it to manipulate the club worker into needing him, and now he is set to intensify his control over here when he buys Mitzeee’s flat, where they currently live together.
Discussing the storyline with All About Soap, Nicki Sanderson who plays Maxine, explained:
“It’s a very interesting coupling, because they’re complete polar opposites.
“The jury is still out on Patrick – people are trying to judge who he is and just what he really wants from Maxine. It’s going to be an exciting summer for my character, and I can’t wait!”
With regards to the sale of the flat, the former Coronation Street actress continued:
“She’s not happy at all, because he’s bought it from under her. Maxine is quite a proud person – she isn’t the brightest spark, but she’s someone who’d want to do that for herself.
“Maxine feels like Patrick is taking control – and being such a strong, independent woman, of course this sort of behaviour would annoy her.”
And it would seem that perhaps there may be more to this relationship than first thought as, in an upcoming storyline, Patrick sets up Maxine to catch him with Cindy (Stephanie Waring) in order to make her jealous. However, the plan backfires when, after drowning her sorrows over the discovery, Maxine ends up having a bad reaction to a spiked drink.
Hollyoaks can be seen weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4/ Channel 4 HD.
