As the hate campaign against him intensifies, John Paul McQueen finds himself in grave danger of blowing his cover with secret lover Danny Lomax in an upcoming Hollyoaks storyline.
Fans of the show will know that Danny (Stephen Billington) and John Paul (James Sutton) have been having a secret affair for months, despite the fact that Danny is married to wife Sam (Lizzie Roper) who he has 3 children with.
At first John Paul called off their romance when he made the discovery about Danny’s double life, but changed his mind when Danny began supporting him through his hour of need.
John Paul’s hour of need has been caused in part by the tireless pranks and digs being made at his expense by troublesome teenagers Robbie Roscoe (Charlie Wernham) and Finn O’Connor (Keith Rice).
Their homophobic bullying campaign against the English teacher is set to reach a dramatic climax in the New Year when Finn brutally rapes John Paul in one of the show’s most hard-hitting storylines to date.
But before that the lads set John Paul and Danny up to be found out by his wife…
The situation all begins when Finn tells Phoebe (Mandip Gill) that Robbie had been abused by his uncle, a lie that the Roscoe boy had told to get his mum to allow him to move back home.
However, not wanting to lie to Phoebe, Robbie tells her that he made the whole thing up, which leaves her utterly disgusted by his actions.
Robbie blames Finn for the whole thing and sets him a challenge against JP to make up for it and redeem himself.
John Paul later gets a text from Danny’s phone asking him to come to his flat while his family are out for the day, which John Paul sets off to do.
However, when he arrives someone comes up behind him and puts a blindfold over his eyes before stripping him down to his underwear and tying him to the banister.
When Danny and the rest of his family arrive back to discover a half-naked JP in their living room, it looks like they have a lot of explaining to do, but can they get away with it?
