We have been left wondering all weekend as to whether Joe Roscoe is actually dead or not in Hollyoaks, but will developments at the end of the month finally clear the mystery up?
Fans of the award-winning show will know that last week Joe (Aydan Callaghan) ended up being the target of step-sister Grace Black (Tamara Wall) in her cat and mouse game with his brother, Freddie (Charlie Clapham).
In a bid to try and convince Freddie to kill Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe), Grace kidnapped Joe and detained him in the block of council flats left derelict by last year’s bomb explosion, apparently unaware that they were about to be demolished.
Freddie couldn’t go through with the murder, (though did manage to knock down Jim McGinn, leaving him fighting for his life in hospital), but when Fraser (Jesse Birdsall) managed to get Joe’s whereabouts out of Grace it seemed like they got there too late as the building lay in ruins.
Since then Freddie and his new wife Sinead (Stephanie Davis) have cleared out Joe’s things and sent Lindsey a text message from his phone making it look like he has left her for her part in Browning’s murder, whilst Fraser reported that he had disposed of the eldest Roscoe boy’s body.
However, we still aren’t entirely convinced that Joe is dead, but for now we will humour the storyline….
Freddie starts to really struggle with his massive secret, and causes mum Sandy (Gillian Taylforth) to become so suspicious over Joe’s disappearance that she goes through his mail.
Coming across his bank statement, which shows his account untouched since the night he went missing, Sandy fears the worst and phones the police, forcing Freddie and Sinead to snap into action.
Sinead clears Joe’s account and gives the money to Freddie who then sends a heartless text to Lindsey from Joe’s phone telling her he doesn’t care about her, to help throw people off the scent.
Lindsey is heartbroken by the text, but using her own detective skills she manages to trace it and discovers that the phone was in Chester when it was sent, causing a dramatic confrontation with Freddie – Has she uncovered the truth? What even is the truth?
