Things in scheming Sienna Blake’s world are about to get a tad more complicated in an upcoming Hollyoaks episode.
Fans of the award-winning Channel 4 soap will know how Sienna (Anna Passey) has been slowly, but surely, taking over Nancy Osborne’s (Jessica Fox) life having pushed the young mum out of her own home, securing herself a place in her bed next to her husband, Darren (Ashley Taylor-Dawson).
And now she has gotten herself pregnant by him, whilst convincing him and everyone else that Nancy is a pill-popping child snatcher, all that is left in her plans for Osborne domination is a ring.
So when she walks into the Dog in the Pond and mistakes a banner saying “will you marry me” as a proposal by Darren, she thinks all her Christmas’ and birthdays have come at once.
Unfortunately for her the banner is actually meant for Frankie (Helen Pearson), put up by Jack (Jimmy McKenna) who wants them to renew their wedding vows, and it is even more unfortunate that the moment she walks in Darren is coincidentally holding a ring in his hand.
However, rather than looking stupid after excitedly accepting the non-proposal, it seems that she is going to use the stress of the situation to her advantage.
Anna Passey, who plays Sienna explained to All About Soap: “Darren’s there holding a ring and Sienna assumes he’s proposing, but really Jack’s planning to pop the question to Frankie.
“As she wants this so badly and is so blinkered, Sienna doesn’t even wait for Darren to ask – she says yes in front of a pub full of people!”
The disappointment is set to take its toll on the barmaid and, after some mocking from Tom, she ends up needing hospital attention fearing that she might be losing the baby (that we didn’t actually think existed, but this may prove us wrong).
“Sienna becomes very stressed out and Tom starts winding her up saying, ‘You’re not part of our family – you don’t fit in’. This makes her feel genuinely unwell, so when Darren comes out, Sienna takes this mild pain she has in her stomach and falls to the ground in ‘agony’.
“Then everyone is rushing around terrified that she might be losing the baby. I can’t reveal too much, but [at the hospital], Sienna overhears Darren saying the baby is the only thing holding them together. That completely bursts her bubble and breaks her heart.”
