Young Tom Cunningham finally manages to get over his current Stockholm Syndrome and make an attempt at escape in an upcoming Hollyoaks episode.
Fans of the show will know how Tom (Ellis Hollins) has been being held hostage by scheming Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) since the night of the explosion last month.
Sienna made the decision to kidnap the young lad after he discovered that her pregnancy by Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) was actually a scam, and it just so happened that the explosion gave her the perfect excuse and opportunity to do so.
Telling Tom that a keg of beer he donated to the party was the cause of the explosion, and that his actions cost many lives including that of Darren’s, which we all know is a lie.
In tonight’s episode we will see a blood stained T Shirt of Toms found in the back of Jack Osborne’s car when police raid him after being falsely tipped off that the pub landlord had been illegally downloading indecent images of children.
Jack is facing a murder charge based on the circumstantial evidence, forcing Sienna to come forward and say that she had driven Tom to the hospital before he went missing, whilst getting Tom to contact the police saying he is alive but not coming back.
Over the last few weeks of captivity, Tom has developed a dependence on Sienna, and almost empathy towards her believing he has killed her partner.
However, he is about to come to his senses and decides that he would rather face the consequences of his actions than stay locked up in the basement of Sienna’s late mother’s house.
Playing on Sienna’s soft side Tom asks her to leave the door unlocked after one of her visits next week, but the barmaid smells a rat and refuses to, causing Tom to throw his games console at the wall in a fit of rage.
However, when he later realises that the impact the game made on the wall has caused plaster to come away he realises that he still has a chance to regain his freedom, Shawshank Redemption style.
Will he get away from Sienna’s evil clutches? Tune in to Hollyoaks on Thursday, December 5 at 6.30pm on Channel 4 / Channel 4 HD to find out!
