Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe – who plays Mercedes Fisher in the Chester based soap – has revealed that the experience of wearing a false baby bump has put her off considering a real life pregnancy.

27 year old Jennifer described her faux baby bump as “hot and uncomfortable”, and said, “I would like to have children one day but wearing a prosthetic stomach hasn’t made me feel broody because it’s so hot and uncomfortable.

“I’m really happy with what I am doing with my life at the moment.

“When I was 19 I used to imagine that I’d be married at 24, with a couple of kids at 27, but I’m still here.

“I’m not ready to settle down just yet.”

Although Jennifer’s character is planning a flashy wedding to aspiring footballer fiancé Riley Costello (Rob Norbury), Jennifer – who’s currently dating her ‘Dancing On Ice’ partner Sylvain Longchambon – doesn’t think she would want a similarly big wedding herself…

She added to Soaplife magazine, “When the time comes it will depend on who I’m with.

“I think you have to do something that suits you both.

“I’m not like Mercy and I wouldn’t want anything too big and glitzy.”
