After the announcement that model Wallis Day will be joining the cast of Hollyoaks to play Holly Cunningham, the daughter of Cindy, Stephanie Waring who will play the teenage girls mother has revealed that she is delighted to be working with the actress who she describes as “ridiculously stunning”.

Hollyoaks bosses made the announcement to cast a new actress to play the 14 year old daughter of Cindy, who Fans of the show will remember was shipped off to a boarding school in Switzerland two years ago played then by Lydia Waters, ahead of the tragic wedding day bus crash due to air next week.

The crash is set to take place during the combine wedding of Holy’s mum, Cindy (Stephanie Waring) to her ex-husband Tony (Nick Pickard) and Ste Hay (Keiron Richardson) to Doug Carter (PJ Brenan) after a bus that Maddie (Scarlet Bowman) is driving careers into the ceremony.

Holly makes her debut in time for the wedding next week, every bit her mother’s daughter, appearing well-mannered and polite on the outside, whilst being a mischievous brat in reality.

Speaking of Holly’s return to Digital Spy, Waring commented: “I absolutely adore Wallis already – we’ve bonded so much in such a short space of time. Wallis is actually older than Holly, so I’m not happy about having an 18-year-old daughter, because I don’t look old enough!

“But obviously Holly is 14, so she’s a lot younger than Wallis. I was 18 when I was playing Cindy as 15, so it’s the same sort of scenario. Wallis reminds me of me, but she’s a lot more beautiful than I was! She’s ridiculously stunning.”

“I’m excited to work with her and I think she’s going to be a little bit of a mini-Cindy, but maybe even worse!

“With some of the lines she’s got I think, ‘Oh my God, you can’t say that!’ It’ll be interesting to see how the audience reacts to that, but I certainly like her.”

Holly’s return scenes air on Wednesday, November 14 at 6.30pm on Channel 4, right in the thick of all the action of Enjoy The Ride (watch promo clip for disaster below).
