New Hollyoaks actor, Tom Turner, has revealed that the current storyline for his character, Nate Tenbury-Newent, is about to get very dramatic.
Fans of the hit Channel 4 soap will know how Nate, who first appeared on our screens during last year’s epic Hollyoaks Later series as the horse and cart man love interest of Cheryl Brady (Bronagh Waugh), has recently returned to the show as the millionaire investor of Cheryl and Leanne’s (Jessica Forrest) new naked waiter service company.
So far his interest seems to be more focussed on winning over Cheryl, who was not happy at being lied to twice by the secret millionaire, than the business itself.
As we reported earlier this month, Cheryl finally agrees to go on a date with Nate on Valentine’s Day, but the night out is cut short when Cheryl, who is dressed as a 70’s pimp, is arrested for solicitation when it is revealed that one of her employees, Rob (David Atkins) has been offering their clients more than just drinks!
However, Tom Turner, the actor who plays Nate, has revealed that his character is about to see a lot more drama!
Speaking to E4 about Nate’s return to Hollyoaks, Turner explained: “The cast have been absolutely great. Obviously I didn’t get to meet everyone on Hollyoaks Later. I got to meet Emmett (Scanlan) who plays Brendan, Neil (Newbon) who plays Walker, and a few other faces as well, but I didn’t really get to work with them that extensively.
“It was mainly just me and Bronagh, who plays Cheryl. So to come back and get to do scenes with all the other guys has been brilliant.”
With regards to what the future holds for his character, he continued:
“What’s coming up with Nate, it’s not just his storyline with Cheryl. There’s going to be other stuff integrated as well.
“A lot of it I can’t really talk about now, but it will be very, very dramatic. And also, the offer that Nate gives Cheryl is a fairly almighty one, so you will have to tune in to see what it is that he offers her!”
We can take a wild guess as to what sort of offer it is!
As we reported earlier this month, Bronagh Waugh, who plays Cheryl Brady in the award-winning soap, has decided to quit her role, and filmed her last scenes last week along with her on-screen brother, Emmett J. Scanlan, who has also retired his iconic role as Brendan Brady.
We said at the time that, whilst we know Brendan’s exit is going to be explosive, we hoped that Cheryl’s wasn’t too final, and thought it would be really nice if, after Brendan has gone (however he does) she leave the village in a sunset exit with Nate for prettier pastures new.
What do you think would be the fitting and best way for the Brady’s to leave our Hollyoaks screens? Leave your thoughts and comments below!

Hollyoaks can be seen week nights at 6.30pm on Channel 4/ Channel 4 HD.
