Horne & Corden Most Popular BBC Three Show Ever But Was It Really That Good?
Gavin and Stacey stars Matthew Horne and James Corden launched their new sketch show imaginatively titled ‘Horne & Corden’ on BBC Three this week.
Despite negative reviews like this and this the show still managed to pull in 800,000 viewers, a new record for BBC Three.
So was ‘Horne & Corden’ good enough to warrant these high ratings or are people drawn in by the media frenzy surrounding the two brash comedians who aren’t afraid to speak their mind and create great headlines along the way? I have the episode recorded but have been strangely reticent to actually sit down and watch it so I would love to hear what some of you thought of Tuesday night’s show.

To pull in 80,000 for the first show is only a measure of a good promo dept.
Lets wait until the second series….
touch of the emperors new clothes about this pair. Tired, predictable, homophobic, etc etc. Wake up Britain- these guys just ain’t funny. Corden is becoming so annoying- ‘fat guy becomes flavour of the month and now can pull girls who would never have looked at him before’. Embarassing stuff.
I wouldn’t normally leave a review about a programme but this was so unbelievably awful I felt compelled to write something. It was so awful I felt embarressed for them as I watched. The sketches were too long, not funny and it was altogether a horribly painful experience. I’ll be stunned and amazed if they pull in as many viewers next week.
I watched the first 3 progs hoping it would improve, but it got worse. there was a dreadful “joke” about getting an electric wheelchair for a disabled girl in the audience. Horne comes on with an electric chair! HA HA ??? I don’t think so? Oh – come on. My uncle is in a wheelchair – what’s funny about that?
Every sketch is about gay people, it gets towards homophobia. It definitely gets boring and tired.
