Hot on the heels of Hero , Zhang Yimou directs this equally sumptuous, equally action-filled martial arts epic. Set in the China of AD 859, Leo and Jin are police officers charged with finding the secret society, the Flying Daggers, who are sworn to overthrow the government. They learn that, incredibly, one of the most dangerous agents is Mei, a beautiful dancing girl.
