Filming has begun on the eighth series of Kudos Film and Television and Red Planet Pictures’ popular drama, Hustle. Led by master con-man Mickey ‘Bricks’ Stone (Adrian Lester), this is the last series with the current gang of grifters as they continue to scam the high-flying and filthy rich by hitting them where it hurts most – their wallet!
Mickey is joined once again by his trusty tricksters, Albert Stroller (Robert Vaughn), Ash ‘Three Socks’ Morgan (Robert Glenister) and Emma and Sean Kennedy (Kelly Adams, Matt Di Angelo) as they face their biggest challenge yet in an attempt to pull off the ultimate con. Viewers can also look forward to another line-up of stellar guest stars, including Paterson Joseph, national treasure Sheila Hancock and Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp.
The unmissable new series promises to be as clever, witty and fast-paced as ever and will see the current cast out with a bang. The Hustlers conjure up some new, ingenious and totally brilliant cons ranging from a complex gold heist to dealings with a different kind of pound when they take on the lucrative world of slimming pills.
Adrian Lester, who is currently directing episode two of the final series, said “Hustle has been a big part of my life for the last 8 years. The time is right for me to move on. I’m looking forward to seeing what tricks the gang get up to in this last series and I’m very pleased to be given the opportunity to direct one of the episodes.”
Karen Wilson, Executive Producer, commented; “Hustle goes from strength to strength every year, cementing its position as one of BBC One’s most successful dramas. The new series will be no exception, featuring some fantastic cons that will keep viewers guessing until the very end of each episode with daring double-bluffs and unexpected twists and turns.”
