The Vampire Diaries hunk, Ian Somerhalder has stated that although he loves playing the character of Damon Salvatore, sometimes his storylines are a case of ‘like or lump it’.
Speaking at The Vampire Diaries BloodyNightCon Three in Barcelona, the star said that sometimes he dislikes what he reads in the scripts, but he just has to get on with it. He even went on to say that he isn’t a “gigantic big shot” so there’s no room to argue with bosses over some storylines.
He said: “It is so much information for the writers to create all this content and the show is so well written but they are the writers and producers and our bosses and we don’t have to agree with them much and it’s a collaborative process so you are living the dream or the ideas of these other people that you don’t necessarily agree with.”
Somerhalder went on to add that five times out of ten, he isn’t happy with the script that is given out to him – but, that’s just his opinion and once it has been put together post-production and the story intertwines, it suddenly works out. Phew! Thank God there’s a happy ending…
“Unless you’re a gigantic big shot, you have to do it. About half the time, I’m not happy with what the story is, literally. But, having said that, that’s just me. When you look at the story as a whole with the episode pieced together, you realize ‘Oh wow, there’s some really good stuff’”.
Meanwhile, as we reported yesterday, when The Vampire Diaries returns in the fall, along with new spin-off show The Originals, Rebekah, Elijah and Klaus may be seen making the transition between both shows.
Speaking to TV Guide, Claire Holt who plays Rebekah said that showrunner, Julie Plec has left “the door open” as far as crossovers go.
She said: “Julie [Plec] has left the door open for us to have cross-overs and for each of the characters to swap between the shows.”
The Originals is set in New Orleans and will focus on three of the world’s original vampires – Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah.
Hayley will find herself pregnant with Klaus’ child and as a result, the vamp must go after her former friend, Marcel, who is now running New Orleans.
