Coming to Channel 4 this week this moving film follows the progress of four teenagers leaving care. A pioneering new scheme takes troubled teenagers from the London streets to the townships of South Africa and to an animal sanctuary, in the mountains above Johannesburg, where they will work as volunteers.
The hope is to teach the youngsters the value of self-worth, to take them on a journey that will break the cycle of offending and re-offending that plagues those leaving care. The film follows four troubled youngsters’ attempts to get on - and stay on - the scheme. For some, it will be a life-changing experience.
