Is Terry Wogan To Leave BBC?

Terry Wogan may be on his last legs at the BBC he has revealed.

Terry, who recently turned 70 has admitted that he is considering leaving the Beeb before he becomes so old that they force him out.

The 70-year-old presenter has told the Daily Mail: ‘You really have to leave before they shut the door on you. The older you get the more conscious you become of that.’

At yesterday’s Oldie of the Year event in London, Sir Terry said: ‘This is a very crucial year for me. I mean, I’m 70 years of age.

‘I have to get up at 20 past five every morning.’

‘It is rather like the Eurovision Song Contest,’ he said. ‘I gave up Eurovision because it was time.

‘You really have to get out the exit before someone starts leading you towards it.’ He added: ‘I hope I can continue as late as possible but you have to consider the way you feel – although I feel well at the moment.

‘I’m going to have to look around and see, although it’s too early to say. I’ve taken a one-year contract and at the moment with the way things are you can’t expect any more than that.’

I can’t say that I’d miss Terry if he did retire, but as he has eight million people listening to his breakfast show on Radio Two every morning I imagine that some of you would be sad to see him go. If you want to beg terry to stay, just leave your comments below!

As a longtime fan of his show which started when I lived in the UK from 1980/1999, I am sure that a lot of people will miss him. He is one of those presenters who know how to treat to public, witrh respect. Most presenters are so busy with them selve, that you wonder why they bother, but his strange sense of humour makes the show what it is. He is kind men, I hope he stays healthy and happy for many years to com
