It depends on the context of things whether swearing "has a place" on TV. I thought what the man said about Jamie's swearing had a certain point to it. Not that it detracts from the topic as such, but the fact that Jamie wasn't in heated debate or feeling stressed or pressured (as Gordon Ramsay tends to be when he swears), but was just spouting it out willy-nilly.

Jamie's series was aimed more at a family audience as well, trying to get families in the kitchen and cooking, so there is a far greater chance that young viewers were watching. I think the language in that case should have been toned down.

As for the Little Britain USA clip. Walliams and Lucas produce crass comedy. And it *IS* comedy after all, and they were in prosthetics for heaven's sake!! If you're going to be offended by that kind of comedy, don't watch it.

I have to say the thing I find most obscene about Jonathan Ross (and the only thing really) is his pay packet.

I'm not against swearing, particularly when it gets used in heated debate (let's face it, most of us swear when riled), or the odd rude word, but when it's a tirade like Jamie's, for no real valid reason other than to seem to appear "cool", I don't get it.

I think the watershed should be later, perhaps 9.30pm or 10.00pm. One last thing. Why is it acceptable to hear the word f*ck, but not the word c*nt? It still gets bleeped even after the watershed.
