Vampire Weekend are set to take to the stage tonight at the Roundhouse in London.
We’re already half way through the iTunes Festival for this year and what a festival it has been with the likes of Lady Gaga, Rizzle Kicks, Avicii and there’s still plenty more to come!
Last night saw an outstanding performance from Chic featuring Nile Rodgers and tonight London welcomes Vampire Weekend.
Vampire Weekend first formed in 2006 and hail from New York City.
The band are Ezra Koenig (lead vocals/guitar), Rostam Batmanglij (guitar/keyboard/backing vocals), Chris Tomson (drums/percussion) and Chris Baio (bass/backing vocals).
Vampire Weekend released their self titled debut album back in 2008 which itself produced a number of hits including ‘A-Punk’, ‘The Kids Don’t Stand a Chance’ and ‘Oxford Comma’ to name a few.
The album was a success here in the UK and the US where it reached Number (15) on the UK Albums Chart and Number (17) on the US Billboard 200.
The second album from Vampire Weekend is ‘Contra’ and was releases in 2010.
In the Official Albums Chart in the UK the album reached Number (3) while across the pond on the US Billboard 200 it reached Number (1).
Their most recent studio album was ‘Modern Vampires of the Weekend’ which was released in May 2013.
Their latest album performed the same as their second reaching Number (3) in the UK Albums Chart and Number (1) in the US Billboard 200.
Vampire Weekend are set to grace the stage at the iTunes Festival from 9pm tonight.
