Kendrick Lamar gained attention after he released his fourth mixtape ‘Overly Dedicated’ in 2010. Following this release he went onto release his independent debut album ‘Section.80’ which was received well by fans and was made available exclusively through iTunes.

The album went onto be one of the most successful hip hop albums of the year.

Lamar had a large following on the internet early into his career and before releasing his debut album he had already worked with Drake, Young Jezzy, Dr. Dre, Busta Rhymes, Lil Wayne and many more.

He released his debut studio album ‘good kid, m.A.A.D city’ on the 22nd of October 2012 which once again was hugely successful.

From the album he released a number of tracks which performed well in the Official UK Top 40 including ‘Swimming Pools (Drank)’. ‘Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe’ and ‘Poetic Justice’.

The album had continued success as it eventually was made platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) and in early 2013 Kendrick Lamar was crowned the ‘No.1 Hottest MC in the Game’ on the MTV annual list.

Kendrick Lamar will take to the stage from 9pm tonight while Schoolboy Q will perform from 7:45pm. The stream for both will be available on your iTunes app which is also available on select smartphones and tablet devices.
