Sigur Rós have been active in the music industry since 1994 and while not as well known as perhaps Lady Gaga but they’ve still got a huge following across the world.

Heading into the iTunes Festival Sigur Rós have seven studio albums under their belt including the 2013 ‘Kveikur’.

Sigur Rós will bring a mysterious ethereal sound to their performance at the iTunes Festival tonight with a mixture of bowed guitar, falsetto vocals. Throw in some classical and minimalist aesthetic elements and Sigur Rós is the finished product.

Ahead of tonights performance the band and their fans took to Twitter to share their excitement and some fans dismay at not being able to attend.

“@sigurros – a little under 24hours until #iTunesFestival  #sigurroslive”

“@avianink – @sigurros Holy shit! Currently in London, can’t wait to see u guys!!!!!!!!!!! Aaaahhhhhh!!! #excited #justabit ;D”

“@TooaPenny – @sigurros I wish I was going… :(”
