by Martin

The iTunes Festival is fast approaching its end for another year but there are still some massive names set to perform at the Roundhouse in London.

Namely English singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding who only recently scored her first ever UK Number 1 single with ‘Burn’ which is taken from her album ‘Halcyon’.

Ellie Goulding will take to the stage tonight at the Roundhouse in London from 9pm and will lead the festival into its final week.

The 26 year old musician shot to fame in 2010 when she released her debut studio album ‘Lights’. The album debuted at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart and as of June 2012 the album has sold well over 850,000 copies in the UK alone (1.6 million copies worldwide).

From ‘Lights’ Goulding had numerous hits including ‘Starry Eyed’ (reached number 4), ‘Guns and Horses’ (reached number 26) and ‘The Writer’ (reached number 19).

On the 5th of October 2012 Ellie Goulding released her second album ‘Halcyon’ (later repackaged as ‘Halcyon Days’ on 28th August 2013).

Ellie Goulding has since released four singles from the album including ‘Anything Could Happen’ which reached number 5 on the UK Singles Chart, ‘Figure 8’ which only reached number 33 and ‘Explosions’ which reached number 13 on the charts in the UK.

Her success came from when the album was repackaged and released as ‘Halcyon Days’. The lead single from the album was ‘Burn’ and this gave Ellie Goulding her first ever UK Number one single.

Ellie Goulding joked recently in an interview about her lack of appearances in polls for magazines like FHM:

”I’ve never made anything like FHM. I’m very offended by that. I’ve never made any of those lists. So what’s up with that? I’ve never been thought of in that way, like a sex symbol.’

”Even if I was 100, I’d be a 100, fine, whatever. Just get me in there.”

Ellie Goulding will take to the stage from 9pm tonight at the Roundhouse in London. As always a stream is available to watch free of charge on iTunes.
