iTunes Festival 2013 Day 27 Preview: “He’s jus a rascal, Dizzee Rascal”

Dizzee Rascal is set to take to the stage at the iTunes Festival later tonight to perform in front of a packed Roundhouse. Katy B will take to the stage first as support for Dizzee from 7:45pm to warm up the crowd.

What a month the iTunes Festival has been, the month long festival is due to end on Monday night with a performance from Katy Perry. Over the 30 days we’ll have seen some of the biggest names grace the stage including the returning Lady Gaga, Kings of Leon, Chic featuring Nile Rodgers and many more.

Dizzee Rascal, born 1985 is an English rapper, songwriter and producer whose music is a blend of British hip hop, grime, UK garage and R&B.

Some of his biggest singles since his career began include ‘Holiday’, ‘Bonkers’, ‘Shout’, ‘Dance Wiv Me’ and ‘Bassline Junkie’ and his debut album ‘Boy in da Corner’ won him the Mercury Prize back in 2003.


Since releasing his debut album in 2003 Dizzee Rascal has gone on to release four more albums with his most recent ‘The Filth’ being released in 2013.

Besides his most recent album, three of the others (‘Showtime’, ‘Maths + English’ and ‘Tongue n’ Cheek’) have since been critically acclaimed and have been certified gold. ‘Tongue n’ Cheek’ went platinum for having sales more than 300,000 in the UK.

Supporting Dizzee Rascal tonight is BRIT School graduate Katy B who will take to the stage from 7:45pm.

Katy B, 24 born in London released her first single ‘Katy on a Mission’ back in 2010 and since then she has gone on to support the likes of Tinie Tempah and Ms Dynamite.


Katy B has also worked with hit producer Mark Ronson on ‘Anywhere In The World’ which was used on an advert for Coca Cola.


She then went on to release her debut album ‘On a Mission’ in April 2011 which peaked at Number 2 in the Official Albums Chart in the UK.

Her second album is still to be released but Katy B has so far released two singles from it including ‘What Love is Made Of’ which was released on the 7th of July 2013. ‘5am’ is the second single and is due to be released in October.

Remember the iTunes Festival kicks off from 7:45pm tonight with Katy B followed by Dizzee Rascal at 9pm.
