iTunes Festival 2013 Day 5 Preview: Get down with the trumpets and Rizzle Kicks

by Martin

The iTunes Festival is well under way now and already we’re into day 5. We’ve already have performances from the likes of Lady Gaga, The Lumineers and last night Paramore took to the stage.

Tonight hip hop duo Rizzle Kicks will take to the stage at The Roundhouse in London at 9pm following support from singer-songwriter Eliza Doolittle at 7:45pm.

Rizzle Kicks are 21 year old Jordan “Rizzle” Stephens and  21 year old Harley “Sylvester” Alexander-Sule from Brighton.

The duo first released their album ‘Stereo Typical’ back in October of 2011 and entered the Official Albums Chart at Number (9). The album went on to peak at Number (5) and went platinum in May 2012.

The duo released their first single ‘Down With the Trumpets’ on the 12th of June 2011 and that entered the Official Singles Chart at Number (84) before eventually peaking at Number (8) in September of 2011.

Rizzle Kicks released their third single ‘Mama Do the Hump’ on the 16th of December and the official video featured a cameo appearance from Gavin & Stacey star James Corden.

The duo have also featured on Olly Murs’ hit ‘Heart Skips A Beat’ which was released in August of 2011.

Rizzle Kicks have just released their new album ‘Roaring 20s’ which enters The Official Albums Chart this week at Number (3) according to the mid week update released yesterday.

While Rizzle Kicks take to the stage at 9pm tonight at the iTunes Festival fans will also have the chance to see Eliza Doolittle support the duo from 7:45pm.

25 year old Doolittle released her self titled debut album in 2010 which in the Official Albums Chart in the UK reached Number (3). The star herself comes from a varied musical background with her parents being involved in musical theatre in someway.

Eliza Doolittle also has a new album coming this year. Her second studio album ‘In Your Hands’ will be available to buy from the 14th of October 2013.

So if Paramore weren’t your thing at the iTunes Festival last night then give Eliza Doolittle and Rizzle Kicks a try from 7:45pm tonight.

We’re positive that you’ll find something new from the iTunes Festival as it runs for the rest of September. The iTunes Festival features live streams from all performing acts which you can view live using your iTunes app on your laptop, smartphone or tablet device.

While you’re here why not listen to ‘Mama Do The Dump’ by Rizzle Kicks just to get you in the mood for tonight. We’re also very sorry if you can’t get it out of your head.
