Despite the devastating news that Jade Goody’s cancer has spread, she intends to continue to give interviews and appear in her reality show on Living TV, according to her spokesman Max Clifford.

Jade underwent a lengthy and dangerous operation on Friday to remove what was described as “a golf ball-sized tumour” from her bowel at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London.

Earlier this week, Jade recieved the news that her cervical cancer had spread to involve her bowel, liver and groin.

Clifford said that Jade feels that making media appearances – and especially documenting her battle for her fly-on-the-wall show is helping her to cope with her illness.

He told the Press Association: “It helps her to think about something else instead of am I going to live and how long am I going to live?

“Is she doing it for money? Yes she’s doing it for the money because she has to look after her two boys.

“She is keeping herself busy which helps her and helps her spirits but it is totally, totally up to her.

“Living TV have said ‘If you want us to stop we will’ but she said ‘that’s fine’.”

He added that Jade hoped the extensive press coverage about her illness would help alert other young women of the importance of regular check up to catch an early diagnosis of cervical cancer.

Jade was first diagnosed with cancer last August and has since undergone intensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy which has led to the loss of her hair and ongoing pain and discomfort.

In the next few weeks, Jade’s expected to participate in a new drug trial in an attempt to combat, or at least contain, her spreading cancer. Cancer specialists have prescribed an eight week course of the drug Topotecan, which is still being trialled by cancer sufferers whose illness has not responded to more conventional treatments.
