Real blood was spilled on the set of E4’s new zombie BB spoof show, Dead Set, when one of its stars, Jaime Winstone, hurt her eye.

The actress – who plays zombie-killer Kelly in the series – told The Sun that the accident happened when a stunt went wrong during filming.

“It really freaked me out – but we got the shot!”

The 23-year-old said she also pulled a muscle in her leg after trying to run away from fast-approaching zombies who were chasing her on set.

In E4’s first horror series, zombies take over the country and the only place that’s safe is inside the Big Brother house where contestants have no idea of the terror going on in the outside world.

Jaime stars as a runner on the fake Big Brother said she found it hard to step out of her role and that filming the show gave her nightmares.

“I had nightmares about blood and gore – the show really got to me. It was a disturbing job.

“You go to bed thinking ‘Oh my God, I smashed someone’s head in today, I took out some zombies, I’m covered in blood’. The zombie dreams definitely kicked in.”
