It has been reported today that James Sutton, who plays mechanic Ryan Lamb, will leave the soap this spring.

Speaking to ITV, the actor said although he has really enjoyed his two years on the soap, he feels that all his storylines have come to natural conclusions. Although he will be sad to go and miss all the people who work on the show, he is excited to move on to new things.

Since joining the cast, Sutton has been an instrumental part in several major story lines, including the bigamist marriage of his father, and nearly sleeping with his own half sister.

This news comes not long after we learned that his screen mum, Kim Thornton, was also not planning to sign a new contract when her current one expires, later this year, so it might be a double exit storyline for the pair.

We will be sorry to see such a great pair leave the much loved Yorkshire soap, but look forward to hopefully a dramatic exit plot!
