Jamie Oliver Defends Ministry Of Food

Jamie Oliver has hit out at people who claimed that his new Channel 4 TV Show, Ministry Of Food, made fools of the people of Rotherham.

Councillor John Gilding, leader of the town’s Conservative group, said, “I was disappointed by the portrayal of our town.

“It gave the impression that everyone was down at heel and it made us look like dumbos.”

Local sandwich shop owner, Neil Beaumont said, “It made us all look like numpties.’’

And local chef, Alan Dale, added, “My message to Jamie is: ‘Stay away from Rotherham!’

Jamie defended the show to the BBC saying : “Some people in Rotherham think we’re there making it look bad but if anything I came away thinking, ‘What a great bunch of people’.”

Jamie added: “They’re straight talking no-nonsense and if people were upset with what I made then that would upset me more than anything.

“In the nine months I had there, I had a great time.”

I like Jamie Oliver and I like his programmes and what he is trying to do. I have even bought his Ministry of Food cookery book although I have cooked for years but would like to cook better but I do not like Jamie’s language on Ministry of Food. Why does he have to resort to using that awful “F” word. I know it is too late for this series but could he please go back to being the Jamie we all love. My sister-in-law asked me to include her in my comments and many of my friends feel the same. I am in the older age group and maybe the younger viewers do not mind this language but we do. Thak you.
