Jamie Oliver to launch his own range of fish fingers
Virgin Media reports today that TV chef Jamie Oliver has teamed up with frozen food giant Young’s to produce a new range of fish fingers.
Jamie apparently decided to launch the new line after being concerned that Britons aren’t eating enough fish.
Jamie – who’s shows have included Jamie’s Ministry Of Food, Jamie’s Dream School and Jamie’s School Dinners – said of the venture, “Fish is definitely an area where people are really nervous.
“They’re over cooking it; they’re under cooking it; and don’t even mention the word bones.
“Only 19 per cent of the nation eats frozen fish even though fishcakes, fish pies and fish fingers are packed with nutrition.
“That’s because the freezing process seals in all the goodness.
“Frozen fish is unbelievably tasty and great value for money. And most importantly, it’s quick and easy to cook.”
Virgin adds, “The British government recommends eating fish twice a week, but research carried out by Young’s showed 48 per cent of British people are not eating the recommended amount of fish in their diet, with 10 per cent admitting they rarely eat fish at all.”
Tut, bad Britons…
