Jamie Oliver’s former apprentice found dead

As we reported late last year, TV chef Jamie Oliver made a personal appeal for help in locating one of his former apprentices Kevin Boyle…

However, it’s been reported today that sadly, Kevin’s body has been found, and it seems he may have been dead for around three months.

Police made the announcement that Kevin’s body had been found after they were called to a house in Coulsdon last Sunday where a body had been discovered in the garden of the residence.

The Sun states, “Police don’t believe his death is suspicious and are investigating how he lay undiscovered for so long.”

A Scotland Yard spokesman said, “The death is being treated as unexplained at this stage…

“A post mortem will be arranged in due course.”

Kevin starred in Jamie’s Channel 4 show, Jamie’s Kitchen, as one of fifteen trainees. He sailed through the various tasks he was set, and went on to cook for Prince Charles at Clarence House. He also cooked for former Prime Minister Tony Blair, Oprah Winfrey and actor Jake Gyllenhaal at Jamie’s Fifteen restaurant in Shoreditch, East London.

Of the news that Kevin’s body had been found, Jamie said, “I’m deeply saddened by this tragic news. I am proud to have been able to call Kevin a friend for ten years.

“He was also a constant supporter of Fifteen and all the apprentices and graduates who came after him through the course.

“I last saw him in September 2011 at the graduation ceremony for the ninth group of apprentices and he was on good form, which makes this news even harder to take.

“My thoughts are with his family at this incredibly difficult time.”

Kevin was last seen alive in October at a railway station in Purley, South London.
