Jamie Oliver’s new Channel 4 show knocks up dinner in 15 minutes!
TV chef Jamie Oliver achieved great success with the popularity of his Channel 4 show, Jamie’s 30-Minute Meals, which spawned a best selling book…
However, he’s set to take speedy cooking to a whole ‘nother level later this year by presenting Jamie’s 15-Minute Meals, which as with 30-Minute, will be accompanied by a book that’s due for release in time for Christmas.
Saying that Jamie would be “pushing the concept of fast, nutritious, everyday food to the next level,” a Channel 4 spokesman told TV Biz, “Each half-hour episode will offer two 15-minute meals back to back.”
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports that Jamie’s new book will face fierce competition from Nigella Lawson, who is releasing her ‘Nigellisima’ book featuring Italian recipes, also just in time for the festive season…
The paper adds, “Publisher Penguin is understood to be planning to release the Jamie’s 15 Minute Meals by October, which is the perfect time to build up sales and capitalise on the festive period.”
A spokesman for Waterstone’s said of the battle of the books, “Jamie’s 30 Minute Meals was the year’s bestseller when it came out, and there’s no doubt his 15 minute meals will be huge – but he shouldn’t rest on his laurels.
“There are many other big cookery titles out this Christmas, not least Nigella Lawson’s Nigelissima.
“Nigella has taken the top spot over Jamie in the past, it’s been a while since her last major book, it’ll be backed by a TV series and is about Italian cooking, which is very popular.
“Jamie’s book on the same subject a few years back was another number one for him.”
Will Nigella and Jamie’s books be on your letter to Father Christmas?
