A shocking and enlightening programme. At first it made me never want to eat in a restaurant again. Then I was shocked to discover that the very select butchers from whom I buy my chickens ONLY stock battery chickens. You could have knocked me down with a feather!! The chickens look 1st class, no bruises, tears, broken bones; plump and tasty. I was informed that they are looking at ways of buying free range chickens and have had their first delivery; they are only 60p per kilo more than battery chicks. What with Jamie Oliver's Fowl Dinners and Gordon Ramsay's visits to failing restaurants, my days of eating in restaurants are numbered. I just cannot be sure of what they are putting on my plate. Now I shall have to watch what I am putting on my guests plates.

Great program, I could not agree more with you. I have bought all the said products over the years and prefer free range organic etc. laziness has been a main factor buying whats at hand in the supermarkets but from now on i will make every endever to buy the better produced eggs and chickens.
