JAMIE’S MINISTRY OF FOOD: Channel 4

Inspired by the wartime Ministry of Food that helped people make the most of their rations, Jamie Oliver wants to start a food revolution. He’s travelling to Rotherham – where Julie Critchlow was a “Burger Mum” after defying his school dinners campaign, passing takeaways through playground railings – to see if he can inspire an entire town to get cooking. Jamie quickly discovers that Julie is actually a pretty nifty cook herself, so he recruits her to help him. But Julie is not convinced – and nor are a number of other people he encounters. Has he bitten off more than he can chew?

Well what a waste of time, Tuna steak and Salmon with infused oil. Why not go the whole way and teach how to cook peacock and keep a wine cellar. Are you insane or just insensitive to the fact that these people live on a bare minimum. The cheapest form of protien was used to bind together meatballs when it could have made an omlette served with a salad or nested in a baked potato.
This particular road to hell was paved with the proverbial good intentions of people who clearly have no clue how the other half struggle to manage.

Your website also needs to be improved to make it clear what is necessary and where, to post.

why do so many people slag Jamie Oliver off for what he is trying to do? He has the health of the nation at heart and they all seem too quick to tell him what he is doing wrong. Is it because they are embarrassed to admit he is right? Healthy eating on a budget is possible, and certainly cheaper than four take aways each week.
