Casualty actress Janine Mellor will last appear on the show next week as popular nurse Kelsey Phillips.

Speaking to the BBC’s Casualty site, actress Janine Mellor said: “I’ve not got anything planned at the mo.

“I’m just having a break and really enjoying my time off – I’m catching up with friends and have no firm plans.”

She continued: “I’m just enjoying doing things I’ve not been able to do for the last four years.

“I’m going to miss everyone. I’m still in Bristol but I miss seeing everyone (on set) from day to day, and I really miss everyone who doesn’t live in Bristol.”

As for her alter ego: “It’s just pastures new for Kelsey. If the first thing she wanted to do was to go to Thailand (if she’d really won on the scratch-cards) then she thought she should just experience it.”
