Jason Derulo remains at the top of the official singles chart

On Wednesday the Official Charts Company released their mid week chart update that showed Jason Derulo – who took the Number 1 crown from Katy Perry last week – set to remain at the top again.

Now we’re at Sunday we can reveal that indeed Jason Derulo has remained at the top of the Official Singles Chart for his second week with hit ‘Talk Dirty’ featuring 2 Chainz.

Jason Derulo ended Katy Perry’s two week reign at the top of the Official Singles Chart with her smash hit ‘Roar’ which is the first single from her forthcoming album ‘Prism’.

‘Talk Dirty’ which features 2 Chainz gives Jason Derulo his third UK Number (1) which finished this week 15,000 copies ahead of ‘Roar’ which is still at Number (2).


‘Counting Stars’ by OneRepublic has climbed one place this week into Number (3) while ‘Hold On We’re Going Home’ by Drake (featuring Majid Jordan) has moved up three places into Number (4).

A non-mover in the Official Singles Chart at Number (5) this week is ‘You Make Me’ by Avicii who has just released his debut album ‘True’.

Taking a look at new entries this week according to the Official Charts Company this weeks highest new entry is by Sub Focus (producer Nick Douwma) as he’s better known with his track ‘Turn It Around’ which features Block Party’s Kele Okereke is at Number (14) this week.


Haim (above) also enter the UK Top 40 this week with their highest charting single to date ‘The Wire’ which is at Number (16) while Jessie J completes the new entries this week with ‘Sexy Lady’ at Number (22).

Looking at this week’s highest climbers in the Official Singles Chart Demi Lovato soars 46 places to Number (13) with ‘Skyscraper’ following a performance by X Factor contestant Hannah Sheares on the show last weekend.

2 Chainz and his single ‘We Own It (Fast & Furious) has had a boost in sales this week following the release of the DVD release of ‘Fast & Furious 6’. The track has gone from Number 58 to Number (28) this week.


‘Take Back The Night’ by Justin Timberlake (above) enters the UK Top 40 again this week at Number (30) while Robin Thicke and his second single ‘Give It 2 U’ climbs 27 places into Number (34) after he performed at the iTunes Festival during the week.

Finally this week ‘Supersoaker’ by Kings of Leon is back in the Top 40 following the release of their new album ‘Mechanical Bull’ which is the Number 1 album this week. The track itself though ‘Supersoaker’ is in at Number (37).
