Former Neighbours star and teen heart-throb, Jason Donovan, has opened up  on Piers Morgan, admitting he is still tempted by drugs.

The former I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here contestant was heavily involved with drugs during the nineties, and escaped death after being helped saved by INXS singer Michael Hutchins, the man his ex Kylie Minogue left him for, after he collapsed outside notorious LA hotspot, The Viper Rooms.

Donovan opened up ton Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, due to be aired tonight, and admitted the temptation of drugs is “always there”.

Now settled down, and cleaned up, the Jason and the Technicolor Dreamcoat star told how he was taken by ambulance outside The Viper Rooms in 1995 after celebrating british Model, Kate Moss’s birthday, explaining:  ”I’d been in Sydney taking drugs and then I flew to LA. I got hold of some coke there, I’m jet-lagged, it’s an extremely strong consistency of the drug and I spent my entire time in the hotel room. The only time I went out was to the party.”

“It was an embarrassing situation to be in  but I was a drug addict at the time.”

He went on to admit that he continued to take drugs straight after his release from hospital, saying:”I just went back to the hotel after they’d checked me out of the hospital and got back on it.”

“You don’t think rationally when you’re on drugs. They control your world. It’s sad, extremely sad.”

The former Strictly Come Dancing finalist then went on to confess the temptation to go back to drugs remains with him to this day, saying:  ”Temptation is always there with everything in life.”
