After the runaway success of the first two series, hit game show Golden Balls is returning to ITV1 for a gripping third series featuring more twists than ever. As always, much-loved comedian Jasper Carrott OBE will preside over the game of luck, intuition and deceit.
Contestants must do whatever they can - be it lie, cheat or play it straight - to avoid being voted off in each round and make it through the final showdown. To do this, they need to convince one another that they are holding the Golden Balls containing the big bucks and not the evil killer balls which can turn pounds into pennies within seconds.
The two players who have played the most cunning game must then work together and decide which of their remaining balls to ‘Bin or Win’ to determine the prize fund up for grabs. Tension mounts, as they go head-to-head, in the nail-biting final face-off and opt whether to ‘Split or Steal’ the cash. Will they work together and go home with an equal share of the winnings, or risk the consequences and betray their rival’s trust by stealing the lot? They’d better make their decision carefully because if both parties steal, they’ll go home with nothing.
In addition to the cut-and-thrust of the normal daily shows, the thrilling new series sees ex-contestants who were cruelly stolen from in previous series return to play Golden Balls with a vengeance and a score to settle. How will their tactics differ following their tormenting defeat last time around? Will they be as ready to steal knowing how it feels to be stolen from? Expect tension and fury aplenty!
In another twist, gender stereotypes will be put to the test as Golden Balls experiments with single sex games. Will the testosterone-fuelled competition in the men’s game boil over as they try to outwit one another? Where will the battle-lines be drawn as four very different women try to suss each other out to win a fortune?
Throughout the series so far, Golden Balls has seen more than its share of controversial showdowns sparking anger and confrontation - from Sarah Noughton who made the biggest steal in Golden Balls history of £100,150, leaving her opponent distraught; to Tony Mehmet and Lucy Cordey whose greed got the better of them when they both stole and lost £55,285.
The series has also attracted an A list celebrity following including premiership football players from Manchester United who reportedly love the show and play along and compete against one another.
