Daytime TV chat show host Jeremy Kyle has revealed that he’s secretly been battling testicular cancer for weeks, and has recently undergone grueling chemotherapy treatment.

And though he’s still recuperating from the treatment, brave Jeremy has vowed to be back at work on his ITV chat show next Wednesday.

The Sun reports that Jeremy was diagnosed with the potentially life threatening disease six weeks ago, and is currently abroad taking a well earned sunshine break.

Speaking to the paper, Jeremy revealed that he’d been “overwhelmed” by the messages of support from fans after the tabloid broke the news of his illness. He added that he’s now “on the mend.”

Of the thousands of get well messages sent to the star, his spokesman remarked, “It really does mean the world to Jeremy.

“It’s been really tough for him and his family. But he wanted to let you all know he appreciates your continuing support.”

One fan wrote to Jeremy saying, “All our prayers are with you, Mrs K and the kids. God bless you.”

Another added, “Well done to Jeremy for fighting the horrible disease.”

And Kathleen Wimbledon commented, “You are dearly loved. Can’t wait to see you back on TV soon.”

The paper adds, “The Sun told yesterday how Kyle’s absence from last week’s National TV Awards — where his show was up for a gong — was because of his illness.

“Filming of the Jeremy Kyle Show has had to be put on hold — but friends last night revealed the host was ‘champing at the bit’ to get back to his job.”

One insider said, “Jeremy is your classic workaholic. He hates the fact he’s not in the studio doing what he loves.

“He’s been in touch with producers and told them not to get too comfortable as he’ll be back on Wednesday.

“He has got a full series to do and doesn’t want to let anyone down.”

An ITV spokesperson said, “We wish Jeremy well and are pleased he is making such good progress.”

All of us here at Unreality TV of course also wish him well. Here’s a reminder of one of Jeremy’s recent shows…
