JERICHO COMES TO ITV4

When a nuclear explosion occurs on the horizon, the residents of Jericho suddenly find themselves in a state of utter pandemonium. Isolated and descending into deeper chaos, the inhabitants of Jericho battle with the fear of the unknown. Clues are sought to discover why the explosion occurred, if more than one blast took place and if the population of Jericho are now the only Americans still alive? One of last year’s break-out hits in the States, post-apocalyptic cult drama Jericho comes to ITV4 this October. Jericho is brand new to ITV4, Wednesdays from 3 October at 8pm.

In the premiere episode, Jake (Skeet Ulrich) returns to his home town to claim his grandfather’s inheritance. With his whereabouts for the past five years unknown, his father, Mayor Johnston Green (Gerald McRaney) refuses to release the money and Jake is forced to return to San Diego. On the way out of town, Jake, like many others, is witness to the explosion and it is this catastrophic event that leaves the residents panic-stricken and their futures in turmoil.

As word of the disaster spreads, the Mayor is called upon to devise a plan of action. With a radiation storm heading to Jericho, the residents have just two hours to gather supplies and take shelter. All communication and power systems have shut down and so the Mayor must work on instinct to protect his beloved Jericho. Luckily for him, Robert Hawkins (Lennie James) is on hand to help, but as this mysterious stranger advises the Mayor, it is unclear just how much Robert actually knows and if he can be trusted?

The explosion is initially thought to have happened in Denver, but when Dale Turner (Erik Knudsen), a 16-year-old trailer park kid, returns home to a disturbing answer machine message, it is clear that Denver is not the only town to have been attacked. Will Jericho be next on the hit list and if so, what will the aftermath bring?

Skeet Ulrich (Scream), Gerald McRaney (Ike: Countdown to D-Day), Pamela Reed (Proof of Life), Lennie James (Sahara), Michael Gaston (Prison Break), Kenneth Mitchell (The Recruit), Sprague Grayden (Six Feet Under), Erik Knudsen (Saw II) and Ashley Scott (Dark Angel) star.
