Jessica Simpson opens up about her pregnancy cravings!

First-time mum-to-be Jessica Simpson has opened up about about her pregnancy.

Speculation that the 31-year-old singer, actress and fashion mogul was expecting went on for weeks before she admitted on Halloween that she was set to become a mum. Jessica hasn’t confirmed when her baby is due, but she’s thought to be around six months pregnant. “I just wanted time for me and Eric and my family and closest friends to know, and to have it as our little secret for a while,” says Jessica.

And, although she’s struggled with her weight for years, the petite 5ft 3 star insists she isn’t worried about her figure. “Everybody fluctuates, but I’m open about my weight and I’m still confident,” she says.

Speaking about her pregnancy, Jessica says: “I feel great. No morning sickness. I am tired, but I’m making a baby in here! They always say that pregnant women glow, but we’re just sweating to death! I did a pregnancy test before we went off for a weekend away with some of our friends to make sure I was in the clear to have a couple of glasses of champagne – and I wasn’t!”

“I crave cantaloupe melons like mad. I can’t get enough of them and have been eating whole melons in one sitting. I even sprinkle salt on them. I just crave salty and sweet.”

She added: “Eric didn’t know I was taking a test, so I kind of shocked him. I came in shaking, like: “Oh my gosh! This is happening!” We both cried. We were in shock and we just sat there, like: “OK, we’re doing this.””

Commenting on speculation that she and Eric are planning to marry, Jessica insisted: “We’re not getting married first. We were talking about a wedding and just throwing something together, but I’d rather put more time into it and be able to really enjoy the day. When you’re pregnant, your hormones go crazy and I don’t want to be super-stressed and end up being Bridezilla.”

Asked what she’s looking forward to most, Jessica said: “Dressing the baby, holding the baby. Then again, I’m loving being pregnant, so I’m in no rush. I can’t wait to be a mummy. I’m beyond excited.”

She added: “I eventually want to have both a boy and a girl. I want them to be close in age, but I don’t know what’s it’s going to be like after I pop the baby out. If it goes as good as it is now, it’ll be in the next couple of years.”
