Jessie J leaving the UK to try and crack America?

Jessie J

Jessie J recently performed at the iTunes Festival in London in front of a packed Roundhouse and while the star was born and bred in the UK it seems like she wants more.

She also recently released her second studio album but it looks like she now wants to crack America.
It’s no secret that UK acts trying to break into the American music scene isn’t easy. For many it ends up being a total flop but for some, including One Direction, Ed Sheeran and Cher Lloyd it has proven a great move.

Jessie J has now revealed that she wants to move out to the US in 2014 to maximise her chances of cracking the US of A.

The ‘Domino’ star spoke with The Mirror and said: “The US is such a big market to break. It’s such a different thing out there.”

“I don’t like doing anything half-heartedly, so I don’t wanna do the US until I can be there – so I’m gonna live there next year.”

Jessie J also confirmed that the US won’t be getting a hold of her second album ‘Alive’ just yet. She has said though a single could land before she goes on your with ‘Blurred Lines’ singer Robin Thicke:

“At the moment, the American label aren’t putting the album out in the US. But I’m hoping to have a single out there by January.”

The star also spoke to the metro about her duet with Robin Thicke and revealed that it has an 80s disco feel to it:

“The duet is like a throwback disco soul 80s vibe – we’re shooting the video for it [now]. I met him once before briefly at an airport but I haven’t seen him since we did the song.”

“I just can’t say how much this guy works so hard. We’re starting the shoot after he finishes his iTunes Festival gig.”

Jessie J added: “I think Robin Thicke is an amazing artist, an underrated singer for a long time. It is his time to shine.”

Make sure you check out iTunes for her new album ‘Alive’ and we’re sure that later today we’ll have some news on how the album has done in the Official Albums Chart mid week update.

In the meantime have a listen to ‘It’s My Party’ which is taken from ‘Alive’
