Jimmy Savile’s nephew has died “of a broken heart” over alleged child sex abuse scandal as it’s revealed Savile was questioned over Ripper murder

It’s been reported today that Jimmy Savile’s nephew has “died of a broken heart” after allegations that his famous uncle was a predatory paedophile emerged in ITV’s exposé documentary, Exposure: The Other Side of Jimmy Savile.

Tragic Vivian Savile, who was aged 69, reportedly “hero worshipped” his uncle before the allegations came to light.

The Daily Star reports that Vivian was admitted to hospital a week after the scandal broke in the media having become depressed and unable to eat properly.

A spokesman for the family said, “Heartbreak may have been the cause of his condition.

“He hero-worshipped his uncle and was proud to be the last male member of the family with the surname Savile…

“At the height of the media blitz he became quiet and withdrawn leading to a lack of interest in almost anything including food.

“The allegations affected his own self-esteem.”

Vivian’s best friend Brian Evans added, “He didn’t want to believe it. He kept hold of his view of Jimmy as a hero.

“But when it’s you against the rest of the world you become very isolated.

“He used to leave the room every time the news came on the television but it was impossible to avoid. It was everywhere.

“He was so chuffed with the fact he was the last of the Saviles.

“He was proud to be recognised as a member of Jimmy’s family and had a room full of memorabilia and photographs.

“We used to talk about dressing him up in a shell suit and big cigar and take some photographs to mark the fact.

“I never saw him happier than when Jimmy came to visit.

“When women started coming forward claiming to be Jimmy’s love child Vivian offered to do a DNA test.

“But he never had the chance. He just deteriorated quickly. It was so sudden. It was such a shock.

“One minute he was doing his charity work the next he was gone.”

A coroner’s spokesman said that Vivian had died of natural causes in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant, and added that there would be no inquest.

Meanwhile, it’s been revealed that shortly after Peter Sutcliffe – the Yorkshire Ripper – murdered his third victim, Irene Richardson, Savile was questioned by police “along with others.”

Irene was battered to death with a hammer in 1977 in Roundhay Park, Leeds, which was just yards from Savile’s penthouse apartment.

Former West Yorkshire detective John Stainthorpe said, “When the Ripper was active one of the suspects put forward was Jimmy Savile.

“He was interviewed along with others.’’

Savile went on to befriend Sutcliffe in Broadmoor Hospital, and as we reported yesterday, Sutcliffe defended Savile, pronouncing him “innocent.”

Here’s a reminder of one of the recent news reports about Savile’s conduct at the secure hospital…
