Joe Swash Hopes For Eastenders Return

I’m a Celebrity winner, Joe Swash has revealed that he would like to return to BBC One soap Eastenders, should the chance ever arise.

Joe’s character Mikcy Miller was written out of the soap in February 2008 and on his return Swash told Wales’s Evening Post newspaper:

“I’d be over the moon to go back to EastEnders one day. If the time was right for me and for the BBC, I’d be more than happy to go back. If they ever wanted me back I’d definitely think about it – I certainly wouldn’t rule it out.

“I had a great time there, but I don’t know what the future holds so I’m just taking things as they come. Now I’ve been in the jungle there’s hopefully a good chance they’ll ask me to return.

“But I’ve got a bit to prove to myself first so I want to try a couple of other things.”

It’s a real shame. Joe was there for 6 years and did not get one decent storyline. When he eventually did, his horrific illness took that opp away as it forced him to stay at home & at hospital. What a waste but this has always been a problem with EE. The ignore many, many of their talents brimming with potential, focus soley on a tiny number of the cast then panic & churn out ridiculous storylines when they realise their unbalanced, tiring pattern – eventually hastily throwing the characters out. Joe’s last scenes proved what a passionate, versatile, fantastic actor he is. He absolutely shone. Mickey was comical and had a huge heart but he could have been a brilliant character with the right scripts & a bit of attention for goodness sake.
