John Barrowman denies any “clash” with BBC over cut Torchwood scene

The Sun today reports that John Barrowman, star of Torchwood, has denied that he’s had any “clash” with the BBC over their alleged cutting of a sex scene from the new series.

The paper states that John, who plays bisexual Jack Harkness on the show, had filmed a “romp with a barman” for the current series, and part of that scene was cut by the BBC.

However, some of the scene was kept, and of it, John said, “It’s not gratuitous sex, it facilitates the story.

“It’s nothing they grab just to put on the camera and sensationalise it.”

He added that more will be revealed about Jack’s past as the BBC1 sci-fi series continues tonight at 9pm.

He said, “You go back into history with Jack and you discover an integral relationship that is part and parcel to what is happening.

“It’s a massive story.”
