Josh Brolin has confirmed rumours that have been circulating the internet that he had been considered to take over the role of Batman in upcoming movies.
Josh Brolin, who has appeared in the likes of ‘Men in Black 3’, ‘American Gangster’, ’21 Jump Street’ and ‘The Goonies’ has spoken about how he was also considered for the part as the Dark Knight in the upcoming ‘Batman vs Superman’ movie.
Speaking with The Huffington Post, Brolin was asked if he had discussions with director Zack Snyder about the movie: “We did. I didn’t have conversations about it, but Zack, that was part of his idea.”
“It just didn’t turn out. It’s OK. It is OK. You know, another scenario might have worked better, but I’m happy for Ben.”
Josh Brolin continued and spoke about the negative reaction the majority of the internet seemed to be putting out about the news that Ben Affleck would be the new Batman. Brolin told The Huffington Post that he was surprised: “I’ve never seen such a global reaction in my life,”
Brolin said. “I feel for him, truly. I would not want to be him right now. The reaction becomes so personal.”
“It’s like, ‘F**k this guy, I wish he was dead’. And you’re like, ‘What? Dude, seriously? This guy is just working like you are. He’s doing the same thing you are. He’s trying to make the best choices he can.”
Josh also said “I just feel for anybody who gets lambasted at that level. I want him to kick ass and I want everyone to love it and kind of eat their words.”
Ben Affleck has apparently signed a deal which will see him star in multiple Batman movies for Warner Bros.
Other actors including Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston have denied involvement in the upcoming Batman vs Superman movie which is due for release on the 17th of July 2015.
Matt Damon also spoke out that he wouldn’t be taking on the role as Batman’s sidekick Robin.
Shortly after the news had broke that Ben Affleck would be the new Batman a fake trailer appeared on the internet for the new movie being dubbed ‘Man of Steel 2’.
