Joshua Jackson Wants Spiderman Role
Former Dawson’s Creek star, Joshua Jackson has said that he would love to take over the Spiderman role from Tobey Maguire.
In an interview with MTV, Jackson revealed that he thought he was more suited to play Spiderman than any other superhero.
“Honestly, out of the big superheroes the guy that I would most naturally be a fit to play is Spider-Man, but that one is pretty well locked up,” the actor said. “And, frankly, I’m too old to play that character because the parable of Spider-Man is the teenager going through puberty.”
Joshua was then informed that Tobey Maguire had not yet signed up to appear in Spiderman 4, he replied: “Well then, yeah. That was really subtle of me putting my name in the hat.”
Joshua who has recently joined the cast of US drama, Fringe also revealed that he came close to playing Batman in the last movie.
“I went and did the screen test. I was one the last four or five guys [up for the role of Batman].”
He added: “I don’t like to lose any job, but they cast the right guy. I mean, Christian Bale was excellent.”
