TV presenter Justin Lee Collins steps up to the oche and aims for the bullseye in a brand new one-off show that follows his attempts to become a professional darts player. Justin, or The Bristol Flyer as he’ll be known on the darts circuit, trains with the best of them, including former World Champions Eric Bristow and Keith Deller, in his bid to make it as a pro. Justin Lee Collins: The Bristol Flyer is a one hour show to be screened on Sky One and Sky One HD, Monday 23rd June at 10pm.
As well as following Justin’s entertaining journey through training, dealing with the nerves that can throw even the most seasoned pro off their game, and life on the amateur road, Justin Lee Collins: The Bristol Flyer also provides an enjoyable insight into the world of darts - a place full of sights and sounds you don’t find in any other sport!
On his new challenge, Justin said: “My quest to find a sport I might actually be good at continues. I’ve got the eye, I’ve got the arm and I’ve got the name. Can the Bristol Flyer make it in the tough world of professional darts? Thanks to Sky One I’m about to find out.”
A big darts fan from an early age, Justin throws himself into this challenge with gusto. His natural exuberance soon gets the better of him however and with barely an afternoon of training under his belt, he signs himself up for the Players Championships, to be held in Bristol on June 14th. With the clock ticking, Justin will have his work cut out if he’s to stand a chance against seasoned pros. Joining a local team for match (and beer drinking) practise, Justin picks his pro name - The Bristol Flyer - gets a new red silk shirt to match - and steps up to the oche!
