Justin Timberlake says he “won’t give in to the pressures of fame and suffer from it”

Does anyone remember when Justin Timberlake was part of the Mickey Mouse Club? Sadly I’m a bit too young but with the power of You Tube it’s easy to see just how popular Timberlake was even as a child.

The actor and singer has spoken recently about his success since then and admitted that it takes a lot not to get sucked in by it all and how he manages to keep grounded.

Justin Timerlake recently released the second part of his album ‘The 20/20 Experience ( 2 of 2 )’ and is his fourth album since he went solo back in 2002.

Releasing various albums, starring in the occasional movie and helping bring back MySpace it must be difficult for someone so popular not to get caught up in all the media attention.

The star spoke with Cosmopolitan magazine in Germany and explained that his family and loved ones help him remain grounded by keeping them by his side as much as possible:

“By balancing it with real life. I spend a lot of time with my family. Many stars end up becoming slaves to their success. They think that now they’ve reached the top, they have to stay there.”

“They fight like crazy for it and forget to enjoy life. I won’t succumb to that pressure.”

Timberlake also opened up about his fellow musician and actor friends and how some of them have suffered from the pressures of fame by taking breakdowns.

He also discussed his career and how it has always been for himself and that’s the reason why he thinks he’d never go to the dark side of success:

“That never happened to me because I only ever did things I wanted to. The most important question you have to ask yourself in life is, ‘Why am I doing this?'”

He added: “If the answer is, ‘Because other people expect me to’ or ‘Because that’s what my schedule tells me,’ then you have a problem. If the answer is, ‘Because I want to,’ then it’s all good.”
