Rumours began circulating recently surrounding Katy Perry and her involvement in the illuminati cult following her performance at the GRAMMYs in January.
The singer has since spoken out about the powerful cult (which may or may not exist) and has said that if it does exist – she’d join up.
If you’ve never heard of the Illuminati before then let us explain a little, the group is apparently a group of powerful individuals who want to create a new world order.
The Illuminati is said to be made up of members with a political background along with various entertainment names and people from religious circles who aim to control the world.
Various other big names other than Katy Perry have also been said to be part of the group including Jay-Z, Beyonce, Madonna and Kanye West, to name a few. Let an artist display a triangle with their hands, or have a triangle theme in one of their videos… and bam! They’re illuminati.
Katy Perry has now admitted that she finds the whole idea surrounding a cult exciting, and addressed the rumours following her performance of ‘Dark Horse’ at the GRAMMYs.
“Illuminati priestess conducts witchcraft ceremony in front of the entire world.” was something that appeared online shortly after from news site Infowars.
Speaking with Rolling Stone Perry said: “If the Illuminati exist, I would like to be invited. I see all that shit and I’m like: ‘Come on, let me in! I want to be in the club.’”
The beauty went on to add that she has “no idea” what the mysterious group stands for, who who they are even adding. She even claimed it’s all a little “crazy”.
Perry continued to explain that it’s more than likely just “weird people on the internet” who just look for “strange triangles” from your dance moves and then they think you’re part of it.
The singer-songwriter added: “But I believe in aliens, so if people want to believe in Illuminati, great.”
Katy Perry recently released the official music video for ‘This Is How We Do’ and if you haven’t seen it yet then check it out below. Do you believe in the Illuminati? Let us know in the comments…
