Katy Perry is quite possibly one of the most famous women in the world right now and one of the biggest entertainment stars to grace our televisions and radios but did she want to be famous? Apparently not.
The ‘Prism’ superstar has also revealed her dating preferences these days and confessed that she prefer’s dating famous men because they have a certain level of understanding – but of what?
Katy Perry is currently travelling the world with her ‘Prismatic’ world tour in support of her latest album ‘Prism’ which features the tracks ‘Dark Horse’, ‘Roar’, ‘Unconditionally’ and ‘Birthday’.
Right now the brunette beauty is touring across North America before heading to Mexico then across New Zealand and Australia, before finally visiting all of her fans in Europe.
In among her shows the ‘Birthday’ beauty has found time to speak with Rolling Stone magazine and has spoken about being famous and how she deals with being part of the celebrity world.
Explaining that she never wanted to be well known, she added that it’s just a “by-product” of her love of music. However she believes fame is “disgusting”.
Perry admitted that it’s difficult to separate your personal life from your public life and that being “famous for nothing is kind of gross…….if you’ve got a talent or something to offer… then I think that’s beautiful”.
She continued that all she wanted to do was to make her music and perform on stage: “But then there’s a lot of different things that come with it, and I call them trade-offs. I can’t necessarily go downstairs and, like, touch the tree, but I can do a lot of other things.”
While we can’t imagine Katy Perry dating anyone who isn’t famous she has felt the need to explain exactly why famous people are her choice of men to date.
“[I have dated non-famous people] before. It’s not that they have to be famous, although there’s a level of understanding when they’re in the same business, you know?” she explained.
“They understand what it means when you’re tired from a show or the tour’s exhausting you or if an interview went wrong – they know all the ins and outs, so you can just walk in to the house with a certain face and they understand, you know?”
Katy Perry’s music seems to have an effect over everybody, including would you be believe crying or unsettled children in the backs of cars. Check out this kid who when Katy Perry’s ‘Dark Horse’ turns on, forgets about being upset.
